I love it when I approach potential clients on LinkedIn and they tell me that they already have someone external/internal managing their LinkedIn profile.
Having already looked at their profile and seen over 10 things wrong, missing or not being used properly I can’t resist replying that they should be sacked because there are 10+ things wrong/missing from their profile which is why I approached them in the first place.
The problem is that people don’t know what they don’t know.
If you have an ignorant internal marketing/communications/HR team or PA/intern etc/marketing/PR/communications/social media agency who don’t know much about LinkedIn but think doing the basics is enough and they then tell the CEO/Founder/CMO that they have “done” LinkedIn then who is to tell them that they are wrong?
The blind leading the blind.
Hence why I come along and go, these are the 10 things that are actually wrong/missing or not being used effectively. You can take this advice and use it yourself or inform the people supposedly managing your LinkedIn what else they should be doing or you can hand your LinkedIn profile and company page management over to experts who have been doing this for clients all over the world for 13 years.
